Awash in Gold

Water has always been a magnet for me. I had never been to the ocean but longed to go, so I painted it in hope that some day this would be reality. Perhaps it was a request sent heavenward, or a promise to myself. And sunsets have a pull for me that I cannot explain; I have absorbed countless breathtaking prairie sunsets over the ocean of vast fields and they never cease to pierce the soul.

This is an early work delving into particular oil painting techniques; it was formerly part of a private collection, and has recently become available following the liquidation of the estate. It is offered with the option of the original frame (measures 14.5”x18.5”), as depicted.
